Every year, Lha Charitable Trust organizes an Elderly Care Program centered on Sowa-Rigpa external therapies, conducted with the generous support of volunteer doctors specializing in Sowa-Rigpa, the traditional Tibetan system of medicine. This ancient healing tradition, which dates back over two thousand years, emphasizes restoring balance within the body through natural and non-invasive methods. This year, Lha is honored to implement the program at Jampa Ling Old Age Home, offering elderly residents access to a range of therapeutic services including massage therapy, cupping, acupuncture, and pulse diagnosis and check-ups, all aimed at addressing common age-related ailments such as joint pain, poor circulation, and chronic fatigue.
Beyond their physical benefits, these therapies also provide elderly residents with a sense of comfort, attention, and emotional well-being, often easing the isolation that can accompany old age. Lha remains committed to ensuring that elderly members of the community have access to quality healthcare rooted in traditional practices, and the Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteer doctors for their dedicated service and compassionate care.
