Phurbu Lhamo did her primary and secondary education in Tibetan Children’s Village Schools.
In 2015, Lhamo joined JSS Law College in Mysore, Karnataka to study a five-year course in Bachelor of Law.
During that time, she also took the role of Secretary of Mysore Tibetan Students Association and was an active member of Mysore Regional Tibetan Legal Association and All India Student Association Meet.
She completed her Masters in International and Comparative Law in 2021 with a gold medal for topping her batch from IMS UNISON University in Dehradun.
At Lha, Lhamo is working as Legal Project Researcher since January 2022.
