Observance of National Hepatitis Day by Lha Charitable TrustOn 28th July, Lha Charitable Trust organized an awareness talk on Hepatitis for the adult students of the Lha language classes to observe the National Hepatitis Day, celebrated every year on the 28th of July. There were more than 45 students who eagerly participated in the awareness talk and asked questions after wards.

Lha aims not only to raise awareness among the general public and infected patients, but also to urgently promote improved access to hepatitis services, particularly prevention interventions.

With 400 million people living with hepatitis B and C worldwide, 1.4 million die due to these infections every year and many more become newly infected. Transmission of this virus can be prevented through better awareness and services that improve vaccinations, blood and injection safety, and reduce harm.

There are few other NGOs in Dharamsala raising awareness on this disease, and Lha will continue to organize more awareness talks and educational programs for the community.
