First Batch of Special Cuisine Course Completes Successfully
This year’s first batch of Special Cuisine Course was completed successfully on April 28, 2023. The course started in March and was held in Ahimsa House at Lha office premises. The training focuses on Oriental cuisine which is food from Southeast Asian countries including Korea, Japan and China. On the final day of the course, the students made all the items they learned and displayed them to their teacher and Lha staff. The students have made over 20 items. Following their classroom training, the students will start their one-month internship in restaurants. Internship was made compulsory as it will give the students exposure and practical experience in the profession. The batch of six students were trained by Namgyal Dolma, a professional chef who has previously run her own restaurant.
The course for the second batch has began from May 1, 2023. The series of livelihood training courses are organised and managed by Lha Charitable Trust and funded by the Tibet Fund.
