Dear Ngawang Ia,
LMHPCO congratulates the LHA Charitable Trust on celebrating 20 years of service to the Tibetan community, as well as to all of your international partners who have become committed to improving the lives of Tibetan refugees because of your good work.
Although our history with LHA Charitable Trust is relative[ly] brief, the impact the Trust has had upon the hospice and palliative care community of Louisiana and Mississippi has been profound. Sine 2014, LMHPCO has sponsored 6 groups of hospice and palliative healthcare professional trips to Dharamsala for mindful meditation and dialogue on better care at the end of life. The experience of meeting with both East and West Healthcare practitioners has greatly influenced the lives and professionals practice of our members who have journeyed to India. Our travels and encounters through the northern Himalayan mountains touch at the very soul of our members in their service to their patients and colleagues. These unforgettable experiences would not be possible without your work.
LMHPO looks forward to our continued partnership with the Trust. The Tibetan history and tradition provides us with consistent examples of compassion and a commitment to human dignity. We, in the West, have a great deal to learn from your culture.
Best wish[es] for continued success.
Jamey Boudreaux, MSW, M. Div
Executive Director
