A group of 20 people from Portugal visited Lha Charitable Trust as part of our Cultural Exchange program on June 22, 2023 and took part in a day’s event. Lha’s Director Tsering Wangdue briefed the group about the NGO’s aims and objectives and ongoing projects. The group also requested Tsering to talk about the history and current status of Tibetan community in exile as well as the human right situation inside Tibet. Tsering also answered questions from the participants. Following lunch at Lha’s Ahimsa House kitchen, we arranged a talk on “The four thoughts that turn the mind from Samasara” by Geshe Lhakdor la, the Executive Director of Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA) as requested by the group. After Geshe la’s talk, they participated in our English Conversation Class. English Conversation class is one of our daily programs where Lha’s English language students can sit with volunteers and have informal conversation about life, sharing stories or exchanging cultural backgrounds and so forth. Through this platform, we believe our students can practise their spoken English.

The group was led by Igor Chiu Sores who visited Lha with his group earlier in 2019.
