Lha Charitable Trust has undertaken significant enhancements to its organizational framework through the establishment of a dedicated Governing Body. Effective January 1, 2025, this newly constituted decision-making body represents a pivotal step in strengthening our governance and guiding the organization’s future development.

President Ngawang Rabgyal, former Chairman and Director of Lha, brings over two decades of experience. His wide-ranging roles, including Chairman, Executive Director, Consultant, and Reporter, have given him a comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics. He has contributed significantly to prominent organizations such as Lha Charitable Trust, Tibet Express, the Wildlife Protection Society of India, and the Rotary Club. Based on his experience with Tibetan values and his unwavering commitment to community service, Ngawang is dedicated to leading Lha Charitable Trust toward continued growth and success for the benefit of others.
Lobsang Rabsel

Vice President
Vice President Lobsang Rabsel was born in northern Tibet and received his monastic education at Sera Monastery. After arriving in India in 1993, he attended the Tibetan Transit School and worked at Khana Nirvana restaurant. From 1999 to 2012, he served Contact magazine in various roles, including Managing Editor. He also worked as a Volunteer Coordinator for Volunteer Tibet and has managed Common Ground Café in McLeod Ganj since 2012. Actively involved with Lha Charitable Trust since 2008, he has served as Trustee and Deputy Director, bringing decades of dedication and leadership to his new role.

General Secretary Dorje Kyi is an experienced nonprofit professional with expertise in project management, fundraising, and community development. As a Development Officer at The Tibet Fund, she focuses on donor relations and fundraising. Dorje previously served as Executive Director at Lha Charitable Trust, managing programs related to youth empowerment, education, and skills training. She also worked as a Project Coordinator at the Tibetan Women's Association, leading awareness programs on gender equality and legal rights for women and children in Tibetan refugee settlements in North India. Dorje holds advanced degrees in Sustainable International Development and Communication. Her strong leadership and dedication to community development will be invaluable in her new role.
Tsering Wangdue

Treasurer Tsering Wangdue was born in Tibet and moved to India in 1995 at the age of eight. He holds a bachelor’s in commerce and a Master’s in Actuarial Science from Bharathidasan University in South India. Tsering joined Lha Charitable Trust in 2014 as Office Secretary, was promoted to General Secretary, and later pursued a Master’s in International Studies at the University of Siena in Italy. He returned to Lha in 2019 as Volunteer Coordinator and became Executive Director in 2022, a position he held until June 2025. Tsering brings solid management and leadership experience to his new role as treasurer.

Pema, a founding member of Lha, has supported Tibetan communities in Canada for 20 years. He served as Food and Housing Coordinator for the Tibetan Resettlement Project and brings valuable experience and leadership to his role as Executive Member.
