Installation of 23rd Water Filtration System
On 18th December 2015, Lha installed its 23th reverse osmosis water purification system, through Rotary Club Dharamshala, at Kand Government High School located near lower Dharamshala, Kanyara Road.
This filtration system is funded by Apocolypse Krew Louisiana, USA. Rotary Club President, secretary and other eminent rotary members also took part in this function, and school students performed dances and sung song.
This school is overseen by the Indian Government; there are around 165 students in both high school and primary school, and around 30 teachers and staff members.
We are very pleased to implement this project at such a school where it is necessary, and we hope this water purification system will help to alleviate major waterborne illnesses such as typhoid and cholera. Many residents and students suffer from these illnesses in this region, especially during the monsoon season.
The water purification system is an RO+UV+ UF and TTS, and is considered one of the best systems available in the area. It will provide more than one hundred liters of clean drinking water per hour to the elderly people and the staff. The filtration system includes a stainless steel tank with a five hundred liter holding capacity.
So far around 12,553 people have benefited from the Lha Clean Water Project and we will be installing more such systems in the future.
