Central Tibetan Administration Seeks Qualified English Instructors and Other Professionals for Upcoming Summer Training
The Central Tibetan Administration is currently seeking volunteers to serve as instructors for the Recruitment Training Academy beginning in July, 2012. Most urgently needed are Certified English Language Instructors, but there is also a demand for Mathematics Instructors, Computer Professionals, and Project Planning and Management Professionals. Accommodation will be provided by the CTA for the duration of the session.
The Recruitment Training Academy (RTA) is designed to create a large pool of trained candidates who are job ready and employable in the CTA and other Tibetan organizations. The RTA will enable the CTA and its various departments to recruit committed and bright Tibetans with an interest in becoming outstanding public administrators in various fields.
Today’s CTA needs people with both social and technical capabilities to work on complex issues. Skills like team building, problem solving, communication, IT, literary skills etc. are standard requisite to get things done efficiently and effectively. To overcome some of the key underlined problems, the PSC has come up with this recruitment training academy program wherein focused intervention will be made to groom potential candidates by providing extra help and support to acquire CTA based job readiness skills through proper internship system on the one side and pay attention to inculcate the attitude and mindset necessary for public works.
Lha offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the Tibetan community. While we welcome drop-in volunteers with no previous communication or planning, we also offer other options for those wanting to plan ahead and receive supported services before arrival in India, upon arrival and during their stay in Dharamsala. Pre-arranged volunteers are guaranteed a placement at Lha, and we strongly encourage potential volunteers to submit an application for any specific positions before your arrival in India so that we can be sure to place you in a role best suited to your unique skill-sets. Most volunteers work directly with Lha, while others are placed throughout the community with other NGOs. See Pre-arranged volunteer. We believe the reception and orientation is to the mutual benefit of both Lha and our volunteers, enabling the smoothest and most efficient transition possible to Dharamsala. Please note that all donations received from these services go directly into the social service programs provided by Lha.
If you are trained in any specific skills, we will try to provide opportunities for you to use your expertise to benefit others in our community. If you are planning to just drop in, our office is located on Temple Road in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala (just across from State Bank of India). Our office is open from 9AM-5PM, Monday to Saturday. Please note that the Lha office is closed on the second Saturday of every month.
If you are a qualified professional in any of the above fields and are interested in teaching at the RTA, please {module 176} contact Lha at [email protected].
