Lha is giving Massage courses on yearly basis for 15 to 20 interested Tibetan’s. So far, there are approximately 70 people who have learnt the massage course through Lha with different associations.

From September 21st to 26th 2009, Lha organized the 7th massage course and this is in association with instructors from Boulder College of Massage Therapy who has experience of 30 years as a professional and qualified instructor. The massage course included both basic and advanced levels for 20 students. The basic program level included techniques of Swedish therapeutic and chair massage where as the advanced program level included techniques of Zen Shiatsu and chair massage. This will help many of unemployed students to become self employed with ones own massage skills.

The schedule for the class was three hours each day with the advanced level scheduling their class in the morning and the basic level in the evening. The technique that the instructors used to teach was mainly international although our traditional herbal massage oil was used. Some of the instructors voluntarily spent their extra time in between lunch breaks to perform massages for the people who needed free of cost, this included chair massage as well as full body massage. Many of the people who received massages from them greatly appreciated their genuine time and concern.

The most important thing is that the students were very happy and appreciative to receive this training from such qualified professionals. At the end of the day, we offered the certificate for the students of different levels with the instructor’s recognition.
