Lha’s July special programs

A group of students from Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) in Taiwan will come to the Lha to teach basic computer knowledge to thirty Tibetan students from the 12th to the 27th of August, 2010.

It’s the second group to come from CYCU this year. In the first trip, taught three different sessions of two hours each day. Students were really satisfied with the way they were taught and all the students received certificates at the end of the class with recognition from CYCU.

Third Cultural Exchange group:

The third student exchange group was from Loyola College in New Orleans. The group of 11 students and 2 professors were here from the 11th to the 30th of July, 2010. They were guests at our Ahimsa building. The Lha organized lectures and speeches on Tibetan issues. The students were paired up with Tibetan students to exchange their thoughts. The LHA also took the group of students trekking for two days and showed them around local areas. They enjoyed their time here and all the activities that they experienced. At the end of their stay, the LHA organized a farewell dinner for the Loyola students and their learning partners at the Ahimsa Guest House.

Forth Cultural Exchange group:

The forth student exchange group was from Life Work International USA. It was organized by Ms. Wen. This was the first group from Life Work international to work with the LHA. They were here from the 20th to the 31st of July, 2010 and the group had 16 students. On their first day, the LHA organized a brief introduction meeting with students and co-organizer followed by introducing their student partners. Each of the students was paired up with a Tibetan student and they spent three hours each day together to learn about each other’s culture. The two weeks that they spent here was a great experience and both the Tibetans and students from Life Work International learned a lot about each other.
