The Elderly Care Program was launched to address the growing need for accessible healthcare among senior citizens in Dharamshala, many of whom overlook their physical health due to devotion to spiritual practices or financial constraints.
We conducted a ten-day Sowa Rigpa External Therapy initiative with nine volunteer doctors from Men-Tsee Khang and one practitioner from Delhi. The program offered traditional Tibetan treatments including Tuina massage, acupuncture, cupping, and pulse diagnosis. Over ten days, 204 individuals received care, with participants ranging from locals to international visitors.
The volunteer doctors worked continuously from 9:30am to 4:30pm daily. Participants expressed deep gratitude for receiving effective, traditional therapies at no cost, with many traveling long distances and returning daily to complete their treatment cycles. The community responded enthusiastically to this meaningful healing initiative.
