Student Exchange Group in the Month of September
This month Lha hosted a student group from Tulane University's School of Social Work in New Orleans. The nine students and two professors were in Dharamshala for two weeks. During their stay, the students were paired with Lha's students to help them improve their English language. They also volunteered at Tonglen Charitable Trust in Dharamshala for few days.

Fundraising Event at Lha
On Saturday July 9, Lha hosted a fundraising barbeque. This was open to all, and was organised and funded by Lha volunteers Karol Hewlet and Paulina Wrotynska, who are from Poland and currently studying in Denmark.
Despite the rain, around one hundred people showed up to support the event. Karol and Paulina's week of preparation paid off and together with the enthusiasm of Lha's cooks and staff, the first ever barbeque party in the town was a success!

Medical Students Group from Louisiana
In July 2016, Lha hosted 12 medical students from Louisiana State University. Led by Professor Neil Guidry, the group visited Tibetan medical centres in Dharamshala to get more exposure to the Tibetan medical system.

Parents Workshop on Early Literacy Development
Lha charitable Trust and the Institute for Social Work and Education, in collaboration with The Tibet Fund, held a workshop for Tibetan parents, Early Literacy Development.
Around 42 parents of children from Yonling day school and Rogpa Baby Care Centre attended the event which took place on July 5, 2016 in Lha's Ahimsa Hall.

Student Exchange Groups in the Month of June 2016
As a part of our Cultural Exchange Programme Lha hosted three different groups of American students in June. The first group included 14 students from Tulane University who stayed in Dharamsala from June 6 to 24.
They participated in our mutual learning programme and helped our Tibetan students to learn English. The American students also visited many Tibetan institutes and offices to learn about Tibet and its current situation and visited a Tibetan settlement in Bir to find out more about…
